Ab dem 1. Januar 2017 stehen die digitalen NRW-Geobasisdaten auf dem Landesportal Open.NRW kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Dazu zählen beispielsweise Karten oder Luftbilder von Flüssen, Straßen, Grundstücken und Gebäuden. Die Daten werden von den Katasterbehörden und der für die Landesvermessung zuständigen Bezirksregierung Köln erhoben.
