Photogrammetry Software Review: Remake VS. Photoscan VS. Reality Capture VS. Zephyr

  Nick Lievendag from 3dscanexpert.com wrote a nice review of different photogrammetry software that is currently on the market. The review is covering four different solutions: ReMake from Autodesk (USA), Agisoft Photoscan from Agisoft based in Russia, Reality Capture from Capturing Reality based in Bratislava/Slovakia, and 3DF Zephyr from the Italian-based company 3DFlow. The first test is to find out which software can produce the best results in 15 Minutes (using the same input datasets). Interesting results - in my opinion we definetly should keep an eye on Reality Capture. Their algorythms promise to make enormous computing power less important, which seems to work quiet well.  3dscanexpert.com is also providing detailed reviews of the different software solutions for those who can't decide what to use. Unfortunately Pix4D (or Esri's Drone2Map) and Betley's Context Capture was not part of the review, which would have been quiet interesting. Agisoft Photoscan Update to Version 1.4.0

Agisoft recently released the latest update for Agisoft Photoscan Pro on 19th of September 2017. Features like stereoscopic measurements, vegetation index calculaion (with radiometric calibration), configurable datum transformations, new data formats and uploaders to services like sketchfab or melown where added. Photogrammetry De-Lightning Tool in Unity for photogrammetry enthusiasts

Unity’s senior technical artist Cyril Jover shared the video of the new tool, which will prove useful for photogrammetry enthusiasts. Basically, it uses some clever algorithms to remove all the unnecessary lighting information from the scan and make it more usable for environment design. The De-Lighting process requires an environment map that exactly matches the lighting conditions of the captured object. Typically, an environment map should be captured during asset acquisition. Neue Verordnung zum führen von unbemannten Luftfahrtsystemen (NRW)

Drohnenführer­schein, Kennzeichnungs­pflicht und Erlaubnispflicht – die viel diskutierte und angekündigte sogenannte Drohnen-Verordnung (Drohnen-VO) ist am 7.4.2017 in Kraft getreten. Sie regelt den Betrieb von unbemannten Fluggeräten. Die Bezirks­regierung Münster als Landes­luftfahrt­behörde erteilt Aufstiegs­erlaubnisse für Antrag­steller aus den Regierungs­bezirken Arnsberg, Detmold und Münster. Die neue Drohnen-Verordnung fasst Änderungen von zwei für den Drohnenbetrieb maßgebliche Verordnungen zusammen: die Luftverkehrszulassungsordnung (LuftVZO) und die Luftverkehrsordnung (LuftVO). Die LuftVZO (§ 19) regelt die Kennzeichnung und die LuftVO (§§ 19-21 f) den Betrieb von Drohnen.
